I received an email to sign up for LinkedIn. Reading their “User Agreement,” I decided to LinkOut:

Before the iPad, there was the Modbook, a white 13” Macbook converted to a Mac tablet running Mac OS X (not the iOS variant, the full version). Apple’s recent announcement may have finally put the nails in the coffin for Axiotron as Apple is no longer selling the 13” white Macbook model, i.e. the only model that Axiotron distributors could convert. While the timing of this rumored death is unknown, other rumblings in the Axiotron forums show a mixed picture as some users are reporting an abandoned site while some posts appear to be from Axiotron support mentioning new updates to their line in the fall. I’m jumping and swinging already. I also have an insatiable desire for bananas. Mmm…

Google+ About To Hit 10 Million Users [REPORT]

Continuing the brilliant podcast series, there is no greater consortium of Mac podcast geniuses than Michael Rose, Dr. Erica Sadun, Steve Sande or Kelly Guimont. For a healthy dose of Mac news and rumors with a dash of “crackpot theories” head on over to the talkcast on Sundays 10PM Eastern at talkshoe here: http://www.talkshoe.com/talkshoe/web/talkCast.jsp?masterId=45077&cmd=tc

I’ve been using Google+ now for the last week, and I’ve definitely been pulled to the dark side of the social networking force. Here are my top 5 favorite things about Google+.
It looks like Facebook but streamlined with sensible privacy controls. No distracting ads, upfront privacy settings that are well-organized and just your peeps and their posts.
the +1 feature allows me to easily share what I find on the web and keep it private or within my user defined Circles. Then again, everything is fairly easy to share or post using Google+
The Circles feature is brilliant. It quickly allows me to invite contacts (within and outside of Gmail) and links nicely to my twitter account.
My personal information isn’t ultimately in the hands of a 27 year-old who has had a questionable privacy policy @ Facebook. Here’s looking at you Zuck.
It’s growing leaps and bounds. For an invite, contact me on twitter at http://twitter.com/bernieramsey  or by email at bernardr at g(mail dot) com
